How to add an app development agency to your Base44 app
Open your app in the Base44 editor and click the Invite collaborators icon at the top. Enter aios@theappagency.com and choose Add as guest.
GitHub sync works too, on the Builder plan or higher. Once it’s on, it can’t be paused or undone, so read Before you start before you choose it.

Before you start
Can’t be undone
GitHub sync is for keeps. Once it’s on, you can’t go back to versions from before the connection, and the sync can’t be paused.
You’ll need
GitHub two-way sync needs the Builder plan or higher, and only app owners can turn it on.
On some plans, an invite can use one of your seats, and anyone who sends prompts in your project can use your credits. We don’t send prompts, so we won’t use your credits. Check your plan’s seat rules before you invite us.
Invite us as a guest
Pick the lowest role that lets us see the code. If your plan offers Viewer or Read-only, choose that. If it doesn’t, choose Editor. We won’t change anything. Never make us a workspace owner or admin.
Open the app in the editor and click the Invite collaborators icon at the top.

Base44 tells you the address is “Not a workspace member”. Choose Add as guest, not Add to workspace.

Base44 has been moving accounts to this model since March 12, 2026, a few at a time. If you don’t see Add as guest, your account may still be on the older model. Email hey@theappagency.com and we’ll find the right route with you.
If your platform or plan only lets you add us to a whole workspace, or blocks outside invites, connect the project to GitHub instead. If you do add us to a workspace, we open only the project you name, and when your audit is done, we leave the workspace where your platform lets us.
Or connect GitHub
This puts the app’s code in a GitHub repository that syncs with Base44 both ways. GitHub sync needs a paid Base44 plan, Builder or higher, and only the app’s owner can set it up.
On the Dashboard, click the GitHub icon at the top right, then Connect to GitHub → Connect GitHub → Authorize Base44 Builder.

Choose your account or organization and the repositories Base44 may use, then click Install. Choose the account or organization again, name the repository, and click Create Repository.

On GitHub, open the new repository and go to Settings, then Collaborators (under Access in the sidebar), and click Add people.

Type the-app-agency, pick it, and confirm with Add the-app-agency to your repository. GitHub emails us the invitation, and we accept it.

Base44 syncs the main branch only, automatically and both ways. Changes go live when you click Publish.
Good to know
Moving the app to another workspace disconnects it from GitHub.
Your account may show one of two workspace models while Base44 moves everyone over. The guest invite above is the new one.
Removing our access
When your audit is done, we remove ourselves where your platform lets us. You can remove us any time, too.
Base44: open Invite collaborators on the app and remove aios@theappagency.com.
GitHub: in the repository’s Settings → Collaborators, remove the-app-agency. That leaves the Base44 sync running.
Questions people ask
Can I export Base44 code to GitHub?
Yes, on the Builder plan or higher. Connect GitHub from the Dashboard and Base44 creates a repository that syncs the main branch both ways.
Does inviting the agency use a Base44 seat?
On some plans, an invite can use one of your seats. Check your plan’s seat rules before you invite us.
Can I turn off Base44’s GitHub sync later?
Base44 says the sync can’t be paused, and you can’t go back to versions from before you connected. Moving the app to another workspace disconnects it.
